Our stay started with a short hotel shuttle drive from the airport to our quiet hotel in a convenient location near everything we needed and wanted to see. Waking up and taking an early swim in the large, clean pool and then enjoying a fine hotel breakfast started each of our days. The evenings were spent walking to the nearby Night Market and trying all the different dishes and drinks while listening to the live music. The staff was always available and helpful to our needs. Our rooms were always cleaned and ready upon our returns from sightseeing.

Location was perfect, room was clean and spacious. It was replenished with fresh towels and toiletries daily. My partner very much enjoyed the bath which we have found to be a rarity across Thailand. Decent view from our room across town on the 5th floor. Kettle and fridge in the room was a plus too. Breakfast was okay, decent mix of Thai and western options. Staff were very welcoming offering a drink upon arrival and made us feel at ease in the morning and evenings. The doorman brought our bags in for us too which was a lovely touch. Bed was big and comfy and there were extra pillows in the wardrobe with robes and slippers too.

Knowing Chiang Rai is an older city with few updated hotels we were pleasantly surprised with the quality and service of the hotel. Yes it could use some updating but nothing to complain about. Just know you’re going to a less modernized area when going to Chiang Rai and you won’t be disappointed. The bed was more firm which we were nervous about when we felt it, and it ended up being just what our backs needed. We had the best sleep and woke up feeling fabulous. The breakfast buffet was fresh with plenty of options. The location is close to everything. And free parking is very easy & convenient. Something to think about, We enjoyed Chiang Rai more then Chiang Ma.

I can say that any time I come to Chiang Rai I'd stay here at the Wangcome Hotel. Many friends ask me why. My simple answer is they have the same respect for me as a valued customer. They don't treat me lowly because I'm a Thai and they have other western or non-Thai clients. No. I always love this reception and the fact that they have been around for a long time, meaning that they have survived all the odds, including the pandemic. In fact, I think I've used their service for a little more than 15 years now, and will still continue going back there. In sum, I love their breakfast buffet, the comfy beds, excellent shower pressure (and hot water--almost instantly), and, most of all, their wonderful service--always in bright smiles and I always get informative answers from the efficient staff.

All of the staff were very attentive and friendly, particularly in the restaurant and front desk reception/front door. Daily housekeeping was very good. Very central location.

Great location, great staff, good breakfast options, bar & restaurant on site. Clean. Like a lost place, funny vibe and decorum like communist Europe in the 80ies. Loved it.

The Wangcome Hotel is always a very nice place to visit, it has a pleasant "Big Hotel" atmosphere with very friendly staff and service. The parking is very spacious, easy to get to and right outside the entrance. They serve a great breakfast selection and the rooms are usually very quiet and roomy with good TV channels.

Friendly staff, cleanliness, atmosphere. Hotel is old but very clean, charming! Good location, perfect starting point to explore Chiang Rai on foot. Good value for the money.

Always nice. Looking forward to completing renovations in the banquet room so breakfast is back to normal.
